USING THE MODELA MACHINE…
STEPS TO MAKE THE PCB ON THE MODELA MACHINE
- FIRST USING THE DOUBLE FACE PLASTER, STICK YOUR WORK PIECE ON TO THE ‘SACRIFICE BOARD’… NOTICE THE RULED SURFACE BELOW THE SACRIFICE BOARD WHICH HELPS TO PUT YOUR WORK PIECE WITH REFERENCE TO THE ‘HOME’ POSITION.
- PREPARE THE SKETCH FROM EAGLE, CAD.PY…. OR DOWNLOAD IT!
- OPEN THE ‘TERMINAL’ FROM THE COMPUTER AND NEXT TO THE $ SIGN WRITE cad AND ENTER
- FROM THE OPTIONS IN THE RIGHT SIDE CORNER, CHOOSE YOUR FILE/ INPUT/ AND RENDER IT
- FROM THE ABOVE LISTED SYNTAX AND COMMANDS ‘UNCOMMENT’ THE #dpi=500 AND BACK DOWN, CHOOSE YOUR OUTPUT FORMAT(IN OUR CASE .rml(Modella)) THEN SINCE YOU ARE GOING TO CLEAR THE INSIDE OF THE CKT, USE TOOL(BIT) RECOMMENDED(i.e1/64”) (U WILL USE THE 1/32 FOR THE OUTER)… AND ADJUST SPEED AND ‘CONTOUR’ THEN CLICK ‘CONTOUR’ AND WHEN ‘CONTOURING’ IS DONE/ FINISHED/ IN THE LEFT SIDE, CLICK MOVE. HERE YOU MAY NEED TO (RE) ADJUST THE ‘Z’ POSITION OF THE END MILL TIP (USE THE METHOD OF PRESSING DOWN BUTTON UNTIL THE SURFACE IS TOUCHED AND TIGHTEN THE CHUCK USING THE ALLEN KEY,…) NOTE THAT ENOUGH LENGTH OF THE END MILL SHOULD BE IN THE CHUCK, OTHER WISE I THINK, THE TOOL MAY FLY UP ON OPERATION)
- PRESS ‘VIEW’ BUTTON ON THE MACHINE AND AFTER THE CARRIAGE IS ‘HOME’ YOU CAN NOW CLICK ‘Send to the Machine’ ON THE COMPUTER, THEN THE MACHINE PERFORMS CLEARING THE SURFACE EXCEPT THE CKT LINES…
- AFTER STEP 6 IS OVER, YOU NEED TO CUT THE EXTERNAL (BOUNDARY) OF YOUR CKT AND U GO BACK TO THE MACHINE AND PRESS ‘VIEW’ BUTTON… UNTIL YOU GET THE CARRIAGE ‘HOME’ SO THAT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO CHANGE THE TOOL (WHICH IS 1/32”)
- BACK TO THE COMPUTER, YOU HAVE TO ‘UNCOMMENT’ TO MILL OUT BOARD BY REMOVING ‘#’ FROM #cad. function=pcb.interior & #z=-0.65 (WHICH IS THICKNESS OF THE BOARD) AND DOWN TO THE OPTIONS CHANGE THE TOOL DIAMETER TO 1/32 WHICH IS 0.03125
- CLICK ‘CONTOUR’ SO THAT YOU WILL SEE THE OUTER CONTOUR OF THE BOARD, THEN ADJUST SPEEDS, ‘MOVE’ AND ‘SEND TO MACHINE’ WITH THIS THE PRODUCTION WILL BE FINISHED!!!
